A review of Co-Op Superstore by Graham written on Monday 14th of May 2012
Copy of message sent to Lisburn road traders and the DSD:
Hi
Four of us travelled from Ballygally to Lisburn Road three weeks ago for a meal, spending £145 in the local economy. Given the lack of available on street parking we parked in the co-op car park just after 20:00 when the store was closed (and the carpark argely empty) and assumed no charge was payable . We tonight received a demand for £90 reduced to £45 for prompt payment. At a time when traders there are struggling I find it inconceivable that people are taxed like this, particularly having travelled some 75 miles.. Are you aware of an appeal process? If this fine is enforced I can say without doubt we will not be returning to the area for either the daytime or evening economy. I also intend to raise this with the co-op directly and with the DSD minister. I am, frankly, disgusted..
